Ben Basan is a writer who is also an editor, proofreader, and teacher. He has lived in four different countries and worked as an ESL teacher, curriculum and proposal writer, business English trainer, teaching assistant, editor, professor, and more. Writing, however, has managed to keep him employed.
Ben’s primary interest at this time is in using technical writing to document processes and improve organizational cohesion. He believes that clear, well-structured, and easy-to-understand documentation is a critical component for the reproduction of knowledge in any organization. Unfortunately, he finds that too much technical writing falls far short of being useful. He’d like to change that.
Benjamin wrote a PhD dissertation (undefended) on the history of smart cities and continues to have a strong interest in pervasive (ubiquitous) computing—especially the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Augmented Reality—and its effects on cities. Once this website is fully functional, he plans to entertain visitors to his blog with such topics.
